On Humans and The Bible
I think it's definitory about the humans, as they are - what are the first things that happen in the Bible with humans? Well, the disobey, they cheat, they envy one another, they kill each other... I'm talking about Adam & Eve and about Cain & Abel. And this is just the beginning.

(I'm talking about the Bible because that I know better. I haven't read the Koran or the Thora so I can't speak about them. But, since all three major religions of the world share more of less the stuff in the Old Testament, I think it's representative for them there too.)

Double Standards (Questions With Delicate Answers)
One thing (among the million other things) that irks me is applying double standards. When a guy says something apparently misogynistic, he's a pig, when a woman says the same thing, well, she's allowed to... That was just an example.

What I wanted to waste my time babbling about is the "humane euthanasy" for animals. I'm not going to make a "save our furry friends" post, don't worry. It's about humans.

So, let's say an animal is in one of those "rescue" centers, an no one claims it. What happens to it if the assigned period of time passes and no one claimed it? Or, the animal is sick, let's say cancer or some sort of other illness that would mean loads of money for treatment. Or, the animal is a dog that was mistreated or used in dog fights, and it cannot adapt to leaving with a human family (with playful, noisy kids and/or old people), or it could adapt to live with humans, but the new owner must be some sort of professional dog trainer to be able to deal with it? So, what happens to these animals? They are "humanely" euthanatised.

What happens to a human that has cancer, especially in terminal stage? Doesn't everyone rushes up, invests in treatment, etc even if they know that the illness is more likely terminal. Or if the said human has a mental illness or is a serial killer or a paedophile? In some countries for killers and criminals, in general, there's the death penalty (which is a different topic), which personally I don't agree with, but I won't talk about those. My issue is that while it is OK to "humanely euthanatize" an animal, to put it out of it's misery, to stop its suffering, humans suffering have to struggle and endure until their end.

Now, I am not taking a stand, I'm not saying we should start euthanitising people, or save the whales or other stuff like this. I'm just rising a question, to which finding the answer it's a delicate business. But, nevertheless it upsets me when seeing all those animals rated as "unfit" to live with humans sent to the "executions" room.

*On a different topic, Emigrate's "Emigrate" album, launched today is worth a listen. What do you know, you might end up with a new band that you're fan of.

Spot to bang your head against
Sometimes, one can read on walls something that would translate "spot to bang your head against". The head on the shoulders that is. The idea is that when needed, one can stand up, walk to that specific wall and bang their head against it on that mentioned spot.

Circus Mundi. It's like "the world is a circus". All the weirdos find a place where they consider proper to start and manifest and show what they are able of. Usually to vent, to display some moronic behaviors, to let out frustrations and what not. All the clowns, all the bearded women, the elephants, the tigers, dwarfs and monkeys let loose and unleash any restraint.

This is what I get thinking when I watch what's happening on the photo-blog on nin.com. It is fun, I have to admit. Some have music/remixes they created and found this outlet to advertise them. Others have ethnic/political frustrations and found the perfect spot to express them. Funny to notice the so typical reaction "Come back to USA, here things are better". Or "us in UK are so great". Or "Germans/Germany/Austria suck". And the usual "let's hate Europe & Europeans" attitude. Next, those that want to do sexual stuff with mainly Trent but other guys as well. Of course, they give details. Then there are the conversations between different "anonymus-es" - because many of them keep their anonimity. Most of these conversations are just quotes of what the offender did, and the cussing and angry response of the offended. And many, many more comments of those pleading the guys to go tour their country as well.

And there are also the controversial photo posts. Those that add up like 500 comments in less than half hour. If Trent broke a finger-nail (ok, leave the jokes :P) there is like this whole bunch of furious hornets ganging up (in their comments) against the offender. Like the recent TR/Billy Corgan thing. I was watching all that and thinking "Does Billy Corgan bother to read this? Does he even know about all this drama?" (Personally I don't think he gives a shit.)

There are also those that write something like "NIN suck", and the said hornets unleash their fury upon them. Of course, it's a war between anonymuses. I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same person that got bored and tries to stir a storm in the glass with water, posing as both the "offender" and the "offended".

And there are also those that promote various causes, more or less related to NIN, Trent Reznor and that photo-blog. And those posing as TR or one of the other guys.

Anyway, what a crowd! As they say "God's (Zoo) garden is wide and many escaped from there." I wish the guys would have kept all those comments. They make a really interesting reading, better than many books on human psychology and human behavior.

So, thank you for all the fun!

PS: I forgot to add the "I'm the first one to comment" thing. I assume they are kids (mine is bigger, I arrived here first, the last one to get here is a potato-head) but I might be terribly wrong. So, most of the times the first comment to a new entry is "My comment is the first one" or "I'm first". Oh wow, I'm boomed!

Also, today 28th of August someone did the horoscope of the day for the guys. Well, except for Rob. Tough titties, they didn't know Rob's date of birth. What a shame! Now the poor guy doesn't know what the Lunar Eclipse will bring him! Oh well, there's still Santa Claus and Easter Bunny, the Tooth-Fairy and the Boogie Man.

On Blogs, Take Two
Gaby told me that many people are "migrating" from Live Journal to Great Journal or Insane Journal. (Don't ask me, never heard of these before).

Well, people usually leave a place because they don't like it there anymore, they want a change, they are bored with the place, etc. So, you leave one online journal to go to an exactly the same thing, another online journal. Maybe there are some differences, but basically it's the same thing.

And I assume those people are leaving because they want to "meet" new people, they got bored with the people on LJ. But... since everyone is moving from LJ to these places, chances are that there will be the same people in these new places too. Maybe under different names, yet... Because they will keep the same preferences and interests, and usually people "friend" each other based on similar preferences and interests...

So, my point is: what's the point of this "moving"? Well, at least there will be few of us remained on LJ. I think it would be good.

First time here
This must be like the empth blog/journal/whatever I have on the net.

Lets see - there's LJ. I have it for almost 3 years. Then there's MySpace. Among many other features, it has a blog thinggie too. I'm there mostly for the music. For the bands. Why do all the bands make themselves accounts on MySpace, I don't know, and I'm not the one called to pass any judgments about it. But when you hear each and everyone, they say what a crappy place My Space is. Oh well, just another oddity of the Internet. What's new, eh?

But I found cool bands and people on MySpace I have to admit. One of them is Maynard's Puscifer account. From there I learned about Trig.com. So, yes, I have an account there, and I'm among all those hundreds of people on the net (weirdos or not) that friended Maynard. I'm one of the weirdos.

Anyway, there's also the mandatory DeviantArt account, for those with more or less graphic skills. (Hey, wonder if Maynard has an account there too :P). And, since we're talking about artsy stuff, there's MyArtSpace. Yes, some sort of MySpace of those with artsy inclinations. While for those nutters like me, listening to music all day long, except when sleeping, and sometimes even then, there are places like Last.fm. Of course I joined and have a sort of blog/journal too. (And there's another place, similar to Last.fm, that I also joined and I'm supposed to have a blog there, but I don't recall the name of it).

But that's not all - some of my friends use Hi5, so, in order to see the pics and stuff they upload there, I created an account there too. And there's even more. There's this Ringo thinggie - another friend of mine has her travel pictures posted there, so I got an account there too. And since we're talking about hosting pictures, I will only say this: Photobucket, ImageShack, Flickr, Picassa... How many hours a day does one needs to be up to date with all the things going on there, with the latest posts of your Internet (and some of them real life) friends? Oh, and I didn't mention anything about forums. Because bands have forums. People with certain tastes, jobs, passions, whatever have forums that you join in order to be up to date to the latest developments. Or rather, to have more excuses to waste your time in front of the computer living in this surrogate universe.

So, in the end, the title for this first entry of mine should have been "Yet another internet blog account for me..." Who needs a life when he has this??? Anyway, of course the entry is long, words are my business.

But, I still have this dilemma: what should I make of this blog? I have few ideas, yet I can't decide which one to choose. Until then, though... I'll do some real work.
